Influence of Study Questions as Advance Organizers on Students’ Academic Achievement and Retention in Physics in Plateau State, Nigeria

This study investigated the influence of Study Questions as Advance Organizers on Students’ Academic Achievement and Retention in Secondary School Physics Mangu L. G. A., Plateau State. The research design is quasi experimental pretest, posttest non-equivalent group independent variables. total population students 1,094 with male 787 female 307 drawn from 11 secondary schools. sample consisted 97 76 21 control while instruments used for data collection was Test (PAT) both students’ achievement retention physics a reliability coefficient r=0.796. tools analysis testing hypotheses were descriptive statistics mean standard deviation t-test paired samples findings showed that had higher scores; high ability there significant difference score group; after entire treatment period exposure to questions. recommends among others, that; ministry education through resource center plateau state, school administrators government provide adequate training retraining teachers enhance their competence mastery how use question effective teaching learning process.
